Accident insurance (group plan)

ÉTS is a member of “Accigroupe”, the group accident insurance plan for the universities that belong to CREPUQ, which is offered by Industrial Alliance.

As a registered full-time or part-time student, this plan provides you with protection in case of an accident while you are on the ÉTS grounds and when you are travelling between your home and ÉTS.

What to do in the case of an accident

Inform the security department as soon as possible. No matter where you are on campus, you can always contact the Service de la prévention et de la sécurité (Prevention and security department), which will dispatch the required resources to the site. You can call 911 if necessary, depending on the urgency and severity of the situation.

To contact the Service de la prévention et de la sécurité (Prevention and security department) :
• From the ÉTS campus: Extension 8900
• Outside of the campus or in the residences: 514 396-8900
• In case of emergency (on-campus only): Dial 55
• Come to Pavillon A, which is located at 1100 rue Notre-Dame Ouest, Room A-0110 (immediately to your left at the main entrance).

Security officers will intervene and provide the required assistance. They will also fill out an accident report, which can be used as supporting documentation in the case of a claim submitted to the insurer.

Insurance claim

In order to submit a claim, you must send the duly completed request form and all required supporting documents to the insurer within 90 days following the accident.

To contact a representative from Industrial Alliance, call 1-888-266-2224 FREE between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday to Friday.

Buying books and course notes

You can purchase all of your supplies at the ÉTS Co-op Bookstore, which is located on the ground floor in Pavillon B. The library is a cooperative that belongs to all of its members and shares all profits with them in the form of purchase discounts. Membership has its advantages!

Used book fair at the beginning of the term

The sustainable development student committee called Tributerre, working in collaboration with the ÉTS Co-op Library, organizes a used book fair three times per year. This is the perfect opportunity to purchase the books you need or sell your old ones.

The used book fair is held at the beginning of the Fall and Winter terms. For more information or to volunteer, contact us.

Group insurance (health and dental)

All members of the Association des étudiants de l'ÉTS (AÉÉTS – ÉTS Student Association) are covered by a group insurance plan (health and dental), and are billed for and enrolled in the health and dental care plan administered by the Alliance pour la santé étudiante au Québec (ASÉQ).

International students

International students, including those who are registered in the Certificate 4023 mobility program, are automatically billed for and enrolled in the dental care plan administered by the ASÉQ. However, this coverage is optional, and any student who decides that this coverage is not necessary must opt out of the plan before the deadline, by visiting www.santeetudiante.com.

Students who are registered in an integrated curriculum program for which ÉTS usually collects the tuition fee must pay the group insurance premiums themselves.

Only international students who are registered in the ECH exchange program are not enrolled in or billed for the group insurance plan.

For more information, please consult the Alliance pour la santé étudiante au Québec.

Reduced fare for the bus and métro (STM reduced fares for students aged 18-25)

The Société de transport de Montréal (STM) offers reduced fares for full-time enrolled ÉTS students residing in Montréal who are between the ages of 18 and 25 years as of October 31 of the current school year.

ÉTS also offers a public transit incentive program for students.

Two ways to obtain a registered OPUS card with photograph:

At the STM Photo Studio
Go to the STM Photo Studio at the bus station located at 1717 rue Berri (Berri-UQAM metro station) to get your photograph taken. While you are there, you must present digital proof of full-time attendance at ÉTS (mobile, portable, tablet) through the SIGNETS portal (a tablet will be provided to you if required);

In addition, be sure to have the following with you:
• Proof of age with photograph (driver’s licence, student card, etc.);
• $15 in cash.
When the OPUS tour comes to ÉTS
Every year, the STM comes to ÉTS in the month of September in order to facilitate the renewal of OPUS photo cards. You must bring the following with you:
• Proof of full-time attendance at ÉTS (available through SIGNETS). Please note that you do not need to print the document, but simply provide digital proof (mobile, portable, tablet);
• Proof of age with photograph (driver’s licence, student card, etc.);
• $14 in cash.

The date of the OPUS tour is published in INTERFACE, the ÉTS student life newsletter, at the beginning of each Fall term.

If you are obtaining your first OPUS card and you want to take advantage of the reduced fare for students aged 18-25 right from the beginning of your first term, go to the STM Photo Studio right away.
