Paying your tuition fees

  • On the first payment date, an instalment of $909,24 must be paid for the tuition fee, along with full payment of all other applicable fees and any outstanding balance from previous terms, as applicable.
  • The balance must be paid on the second payment date.
Part time
(less than 9 credits) 
  • The full fee is payable on the first payment date, along with any outstanding balance from previous terms, as applicable.

If you make your payment by Internet, you must indicate your permanent code preceded by the letter “E” in the field entitled “invoice number”.

IMPORTANT

  • Payments are first applied against any outstanding balance from previous terms.
  • Always indicate your permanent code in all correspondence for reference purposes.
  • Allow a period of 3 days for payments to be processed.


Penalties

  • Late registration : Graduate or doctoral student: $100
  • Non-payment of the minimum amount of the first invoice: $25
  • Any unpaid balance after the due date for the second payment: $25

Any student who does not respect the terms of payment or the due dates for the instalments:
  • will not be allowed to obtain a transcript
  • will not be allowed to obtain a proof of registration
  • will not be allowed to register again or receive a diploma

Adjustment of the invoice

Your invoice will only be adjusted if the number of credits is modified following changes in course selection, even if you change programs. Therefore, you must always pay the minimum amount of your first invoice or contact the Bureau du registraire (Registrar’s office) in order to verify the amount to be paid and avoid incurring a $25 penalty.



Definition of codes used in the “Cancellation” column

  • AX: Cancelled by the student1
  • XX: Dropped with no reimbursement and no mention of failure
  • CX: Cancelled by ÉTS (course removed from the schedule)1
  • UX: Cancelled by ÉTS (registration refused) 1
  • RX: Cancelled by the Program Director 1
  • FX: Suspended by ÉTS (outstanding balance) 1, 2

1 With reimbursement of tuition fee.

2 Any student whose registration is refused because of an outstanding balance from previous terms must pay the entire amount due by January 10, 2017, which is the date that is indicated on the first registration statement-invoice. The minimum amount of the tuition fee for the current term must also be paid by the indicated deadline.



Reimbursement

Are you entitled to reimbursement of your tuition fee? Contact the Bureau du registraire (Registrar’s office):


If you need to request a reimbursement of tuition or other fees, please send an email to accueilregistraire@etsmtl.ca

This email must be sent from your personal email account (the one listed in your student record - SIGNETS). It will help us to verify your identity.

Include your :
  • full name
  • permanent code
  • complete mailing address (street number and name, city, postal code)

A reimbursement check will be sent to you by the mail within two to three weeks.


Fees for the Engineer’s Obligation Ceremony (Ring Ceremony)

Once you become eligible for this ceremony, a fee of $45 will be added to your registration statement-invoice, broken down as follows:

  • $15 for the presentation of the ring
  • $30 for participation in the ceremony
