Integrity in research
More than ever, academic research at ÉTS brings together a variety of stakeholders in a process that allows for the advancement of knowledge and socio-economic progress. The integrity of this process is crucial in order to ensure the quality of the results and the protection of everyone involved.
The major federal research councils (NSERC, SSHRC, CIHR) and Québec funding organizations (FQRNT, FQRSC, FRSQ) have established guidelines respecting ethics and integrity in research. More specifically, integrity in research refers to intellectual discipline, the recognition of work carried out by professors-researchers or students and effective and meticulous financial management.
The Conference of Rectors and Principals of Québec Universities (CREPUQ) and the head office of Université du Québec have also defined their expectations in this regard. In 1995, ÉTS adopted the
Politique en matière d’éthique et d’intégrité en recherche
(Policy respecting ethics and integrity in research). This document reflects ÉTS’ commitment to comply with the most stringent standards respecting integrity and to adhere to the ethical principles defined by subsidizing agencies.
