Once again this year, the ÉTS Development Fund’s annual Scholarship Award Ceremony, which was held on April 4, has made a number of ÉTS students very happy. And for good reason! A total of $1,225,846 in scholarships was awarded to more than 170 students.

This total also includes the amounts given out in the form of scholarships and Awards of Excellence to the 46 sports, science and student group clubs, 16 companies from Centech and 3 research teams, namely STEPPE ($10,000), DRAME ($10,000) and the EERS-NSERC Chair ($100,000), which received funding pursuant to a major donation agreement with the Gaspé Beaubien Foundation.

According to Pierre Dumouchel, Director General of ÉTS: “This annual celebration gives our donors an opportunity to reward academic excellence and perseverance, as well as involvement in the school. The financial support that our students receive is made possible thanks to financial contributions from the university community and the involvement of the business world. I would like to sincerely thank them all for their active support for the mission ÉTS.”

By providing financial support for scientific clubs, among others, donors are able to encourage up to forty students working of prototypes of all sorts, which are matched up against those from large universities around the world in international competitions.

The ÉTS scholarship program ranks as one of the most generous among all universities in Québec. In addition, the scholarships are distributed in such a way that the greatest possible number of recipients can benefit from them.
