Kamal Al-Haddad receives the Eugene Mittelmann Award

The second Canadian to receive the Award since its inception

Professor Kamal Al-Haddad of the electrical engineering department at ÉTS has received the Eugene Mittelmann Achievement Award from IEEE Industrial Electronics. Professor Al-Haddad is the second Canadian to receive the Award since its inception in 1975.

The Award, which is designed to recognize exceptional contributions in the field of industrial electronics, was presented to Professor Al-Haddad at a ceremony held in Dallas on November 1, 2014.

Professor Al-Haddad stated that he was proud of the honour and that he shared the Award with the students, colleagues, and community at ÉTS. “A huge thank-you to ÉTS for enabling me to achieve my aspirations,” he added.

Professor Al-Haddad holds the Canada Research Chair in Electrical Energy Conversion and in Power Electronics and is the Director of the Power Electronics and Industrial Control Research Group (GREPCI) at ÉTS.
