Practical information

Fees

No application fees / No tuition fees apply for the students registered at an ETS partner institution, in the framework of student exchange agreements.


Room and board*

Students enrolled in the summer school program will be housed on campus, at ÉTS housing. The cost for a room is approximately $700, for a room in a shared two-bedroom apartmentFor students who wish to live alone, one-bedroom apartment are also available. Rooms have been prebooked by ETS international coordination office. Reservation details will be specified along with the admission letter.

The average cost of a meal at the ÉTS cafeteria is $7-8. When the cafeteria is closed, students can go to the affordable restaurants near the university, where students can order a complete meal for an average of $10.


Health insurance*

All international students studying in Quebec are required to have health insurance coverage. All Summer School participants are required to enrol in the ÉTS health insurance plan (Desjardins - Q178). Upon arrival, students must pay $81 for their health insurance in full at the ÉTS Registrar’s Office, to confirm their enrolment. Please note that purchasing health insurance in your country of origin does not exempt you from this requirement.

Exemptions apply for students who are citizens of one of the following countries that has signed a reciprocal social security agreement with Quebec: Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Greece, Luxembourg, Norway, Portugal, Sweden. These students may be covered under the Quebec provincial health insurance and must ensure that they bring the necessary paperwork from their home country in order to enrol. Transportation

Students are responsible for paying for their travel to and from Montreal, as well as local transportation within the city (a monthly pass for all metro and bus lines within the city costs approximately $49,75).


Living in Montreal

The costs of living is very affordable and the city is extremely safe.
